@heydude09876 The Linux kernel may be GPL-licensed, but it's still Linus's baby. To change its pronunciation to appeal to the masses demonstrates a lack of pride, in my opinion. Now, if I wanted to name a kernel or operating system around the concept of the whole and not just the individual, I'd probably call it "CommuneX".

@LolPomps French isn't pronounced in a weird way...english is.

@heydude09876 the problem is that English is just... wrong. Most of the other European languages are pronounced like Latin, but English and French are pronounced in a weird way.
